Let’s Be Honest…

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports…

Tom Brady looked like Aaron Rodgers last week.  Unfortunately, the Ravens didn’t capitalize the way the Giants did.

Brady tried to go for the nail in the coffin and Jimmy Smith made him pay dearly.  After this interception, you just felt the momentum shift in the Ravens favor. Alas…

Let’s Be Honest…

*blowing the dust off and removing the cobwebs*

After seriously prolonged negotiations and a shortened pre-season the question must be asked: Are you ready for some football?!!!!!!

I guess the NFL feels it should get a cookie for similarly suspending Jim Tressel in his new gig as Colts’ assistant. They had to. Folks would have been outraged otherwise. Read the rest of this entry »

Let’s Be Honest…

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports…

We are saddened by the resignation of Jim Tressel because it means less hate jokes. We will miss them dearly.

(this is a repost for Alba)

Update: The hate still exists!

In related news, Ohio State’s QB Terrelle Pryor is under further scrutiny by the NCAA for receiving cars and other extra benefits. I bet he really wishes he declared for the draft now (although the supplemental draft is still an option). Read the rest of this entry »

Let’s Be Honest…

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports…

So now that Ohio State’s football program is under investigation (again) for selling 50 cars to athletes and their families will they FINALLY get more than a slap on the wrist from the NCAA?

Meanwhile, the hate keeps coming for Jim Tressel (and I don’t blame them). Folks in Michigan are airing their distaste.

Gary Williams retired from the University of Maryland last week.  While we’re genuinely sorry to see him go, it was time as he was not interested in playing today’s game when it came to recruiting. Read the rest of this entry »

Let’s Be Honest…

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports…

Everyone in Chicago better start praying fervently that Derrick Rose can come out of that walking boot and be effective.

At some point, LeBron James or Dwyane Wade is going to have to make a game-winning shot in the last 10 seconds.  It doesn’t really matter how great the rest of the game was if you lose.

Maybe they need to learn from Chris Paul, he sure shows a lot of heart and put that team on his back. But we already knew that.

No matter how you slice it, this was a heck of a shot by Lou Williams to extend the 76ers series with the Miami Heat.

Let’s Be Honest…

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports…

How so very kind of Jim Tressel to “volunteer” to serve a 5 game suspension with his players.

Speaking of honesty, or the lack thereof, Bruce Pearl was fired from his job as the University of Tennessee’s head basketball coach. What took them so long?! It has been reported he had a violation this month as well!

No one in America considers the Thurs/Fri NCAA games to be the 2nd round (nor do we acknowledge the Tues/Weds games even happened).

The President was on a roll with his picks but even he got screwed by Pitt and if you didn’t Louisville or Kansas State probably did you in.

Speaking of Pitt, isn’t it interesting that the Big East got 11 teams into the tournament and only two made it to the sweet 16?  Be cool to know how Colorado and Virginia Tech feel about that. Read the rest of this entry »
