Let’s Be Honest…

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports…

Tom Brady looked like Aaron Rodgers last week.  Unfortunately, the Ravens didn’t capitalize the way the Giants did.

Brady tried to go for the nail in the coffin and Jimmy Smith made him pay dearly.  After this interception, you just felt the momentum shift in the Ravens favor. Alas…

Let’s Be Honest – NFL Playoff Edition

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports…

What a thrilling and emotional game as the San Francisco 49ers beat the New Orleans Saints and Jim Harbaugh solidified the title of NFL coach of the year.

Because the 49ers won it was acceptable and almost cool for Alex Smith to wear this mechanic’s shirt during his presser:

Let’s Be Honest…

Happy New Year!!!

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports…

Tebow reigns! This time when it matters most. But let’s not forget Demaryius Thomas with that mean stiff arm.

The Saints scored all over the Lions. There was no mention of Suh and the defense throughout the game. That could be a good thing as he needs to work on his rep as a dirty player.

The Lions definitely weren’t ready for prime time on Saturday night but with that young nucleus they could be dangerous for the next decade.

Let’s Be Honest…

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports…

The NFL lost part of it’s foundation with the death of Al Davis on Saturday.  He became a bit of a punchline later in his life but the NFL does not exist without his contribution.

Mike Vick threw 4 interceptions on Sunday but the bigger story is how lackluster the defense of the Philadelphia Eagles has been this season (after so much hype).

The savior, Tim Tebow, came in to save the day for the Denver Broncos, only to come up short.  Can you say quarterback controversy?

Let’s Be Honest…

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports…

The ratings for the NFL Draft dropped from last year.  David Stern needs to take note, if the NFL Draft loses fan interest with labor strife, the NBA would fall completely off the map.

After being drafted overall #1 by the Carolina Panthers, Cam Newton proved his country roots by saying, “it’s not going to be instant like instant grits. It’s going to be like collard greens” with regards to his impact on the team.  Oh Cam.  Something tells me the media is going to LOVE covering him.

I think the display of emotion by Von Miller and Mark Ingram at the NFL Draft was beautiful. Wouldn’t you be feeling some kind of way if you were going to be a millionaire or heard an emotional message from your father in jail? Have a heart folks.

The Power Shift That Wasn’t

The NBA has been a whirlwind the past few days with so many big names and small names changing teams that it will take a few days for everyone to sort out who went where.  The landscape has changed and seemingly the balance of power in the league has shifted east.  When the East is interesting, the league is interesting so this has to be a good thing right? So once the dust settles who will be the big winner in all of this? Read the rest of this entry »

Let’s Be Honest…

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports.

Evander Holyfield had NO business back in the boxing ring this week.

The free midseason preview of the NBA League Pass is a waste when you get matchups like Suns/Wizards, Pistons/Nets, and Raptors/Magic.

Kevin Durant just keeps getting better and better.
