Let’s Be Honest…

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports…

So…how about them Eagles?

Michael Vick complained about not getting roughing the passer calls, but doesn’t it seem like the league has a double standard for scrambling quarterbacks?

Does Michael Vick have a sense of deja vu because being behind a horrible line has to remind him of playing for the Falcons, right?

Pretty sure you’ve heard about the Vince Young imposter that looks nothing like VY. Women gave him thousands of dollars…no words.

ESPN – No One Beats a Dead Horse Better

It’s late July and the NFL Lockout is finally coming to an end (as we all predicted) without any loss to the regular season (again, as we all predicted).  But there’s another story, one that is all too familiar, that was being discussed when I turned on ESPN this morning.  Brett Favre.  It seems there are rumors that old man Brett would ONCE AGAIN leave retirement and join an NFL team.  This year the story revolves around him reporting to the Philadelphia Eagles and serving as the backup to Michael Vick. Let’s Be Honest…

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports…

So Jimmer Fredette gets to take his classes online because he’s NOW a distraction at BYU.  How is he a distraction now that the season is over?  That makes no sense.  Get that ethics panel together and get back to us with a better excuse.

Kobe got fined 100K for calling a referee a derogatory word.  The fine is definitely warranted but don’t you kinda think if it were a lesser player and the playoffs weren’t starting there would be a suspension involved?

Nobody cares who wins the Atlanta/Orlando playoff series.  As a matter of fact, if there was a way for both teams to lose a lot of people would be happy.

Let’s Be Honest (Super Bowl Week Edition)

Our unfiltered thoughts on the biggest game in sports

Cris Carter being left out of the Hall of Fame is bad, but aren’t we glad Richard Dent finally made it in?

Doesn’t it suck that Deion Sanders and Shannon Sharpe will be forced to wear the HOF jackets at the induction, wouldn’t it be much more fun to see what ensembles they would choose?

(Forward to 16 sec. for Prime Time)

Hey ESPN, I know Sundays are for bowling but do you really think the Celebrity Bowling Challenge is going to get people to tune in on Super Bowl Sunday?

Is there really a need for a six hour pre-game show? Read the rest of this entry »

National Signing Day – Alba Rants

Today is National Signing Day. ESPN would lead you to believe that this day has some importance or relevance when in reality it is a chance for college football to flaunt their programs.  All NCAA sports have signing days, the first day a school can offer and a player can accept a scholarship to play for the program. But in football, and to a lesser extent basketball, these days have become events. Read the rest of this entry »

Let’s Be Honest…

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports

Lebron has missed a few games with a sprained ankle will the rest of the world realize the Heat is one injury away from being the Bucks?

Duke lost for the first time but you think they’ll still take the ACC in a landslide?

Either you love Duke or you hate Duke.  Has any team been more polarizing in sports? Read the rest of this entry »
