Let’s Be Honest…

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports…

Kemba Walker is a beast and deserves a much needed break for putting UCONN on his back in 5 games 5 days straight.

We all knew Duke was not going to allow UNC to beat them two times in a row.

Even the Ivy League teams were battling hard but their fans need to work on their signs, a little too high brow.

Lockout Insurance – Is Your Team Prepared?

BaltimoreRavens.com reports that Anquan Boldin commented that the Ravens should be in good shape should there be a work stoppage due to a stall in Collective Bargaining Agreement talks between the NFL and the Player’s Association. Boldin is hopeful that an agreement will be reached but given the low turnover of coaching staff and players the Ravens have an edge. Now that sounds great and all and I think highly of my team but could we really be prepared in a matter of weeks, without OTAs (organized team activities), training camp, minicamp, etc.? That means relying on players individually prepping and staying in the best, or as close to best is possible, playing condition on their own. I would like to think that the Ravens have some of the most disciplined players in the NFL but they have a lot of resources available to them at the team’s facility that they will no longer have access to. Let’s Be Honest…

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports…

The CIAA Championships took place in Charlotte but I bet most of the attendees weren’t even aware basketball was being played (congrats to the winners: Shaw University).

North Carolina deserves kudos for beating Duke and winning the ACC regular season title but don’t we kinda figure we’ll see that rematch next weekend in the ACC Championship game?

This college basketball season has left us no clear favorite which means the tournament could be the most exciting in years. Read the rest of this entry »

Let’s Be Honest…

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports…

Did you see all those empty seats at American Airlines Arena for the Knicks vs. Heat game? Disgrace!

The hometown Heat lost a nice lead and the game to the visiting Knicks showing once again the big three needs some big help.

Did you catch Grant Hill putting up 34 points against the Pacers, playing like he was a youngin’? Oh. Yeah, me neither.

Now that the NBA trade deadline has passed will anyone care about the league again until the playoffs?

Cam Newton has gotten mixed reviews on his performance at the NFL combine, the question is whether he is as good as he thinks he is. Read the rest of this entry »

Let’s Be Honest (Super Bowl Week Edition)

Our unfiltered thoughts on the biggest game in sports

Cris Carter being left out of the Hall of Fame is bad, but aren’t we glad Richard Dent finally made it in?

Doesn’t it suck that Deion Sanders and Shannon Sharpe will be forced to wear the HOF jackets at the induction, wouldn’t it be much more fun to see what ensembles they would choose?

(Forward to 16 sec. for Prime Time)

Hey ESPN, I know Sundays are for bowling but do you really think the Celebrity Bowling Challenge is going to get people to tune in on Super Bowl Sunday?

Is there really a need for a six hour pre-game show? Read the rest of this entry »
