The NFL Pro Bowl was this weekend. The question is: Does anyone care?

Of course it was all offense with the AFC team scoring a record of 59 points.

Brandon Marshall, of the Miami Dolphins, was named the game’s MVP, having quite a stellar game that was quite the opposite of his less than marginal season. Go figure.

Let’s Be Honest…

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports…

We’d like to begin by wishing Cam Netwon a happy belated birthday. His cake is just as extra as he is.

Who do we have to talk to to get rid of the talking basketball and “fast” rapper commercials during NBA games?

You have to give it up for the Memphis Grizzlies for getting as far as they did in the NBA playoffs.  Then you have to take some away for how the played in Game 7.

Let’s hope Russell Westbrook doesn’t see what kind of company he’s keeping with that triple-double in Game 7.  The last thing the Thunder needs is for him to get too full of himself…again. Read the rest of this entry »

Out With the Old

In 1999, Michael Jordan retired (we are going to just pretend that whole debacle of a comeback with the Washington Wizards never happened, ok) and a big deal was made about who among the current crop of NBA players would replace him.  Many acted as if the NBA would shrivel up and die without his presence.  Considering Jordan was the preeminent player of his time (and to some the best NBA player ever) his absence left large shoes to fill.  Many thought the heir apparent was Kobe Bryant who was three years into his career and seemed to pattern his entire game after Jordan.  Kobe never quite lived up to those lofty expectations but built his own great career and 12 years later, the NBA is undergoing yet another changing of the guard.
