Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports…
The NFL Pro Bowl was this weekend. The question is: Does anyone care?
Of course it was all offense with the AFC team scoring a record of 59 points.
Brandon Marshall, of the Miami Dolphins, was named the game’s MVP, having quite a stellar game that was quite the opposite of his less than marginal season. Go figure.
The QB of the Carolina Panthers, Cam Newton, played terribly but does it even matter? It’s the Pro Bowl for goodness sake!
Peyton Manning decided last week to finally speak on his frustrations of being out of the loop with the Colts organization, a feeling he’s not used to having. C’mon Irsay (owner of the Colts), time to talk it out.
The Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat played a tough and tight game Sunday night. Unfortunately, for Derrick Rose, Bulls fans, and Heat haters, Rose missed his final two foul shots. If it’s any consolation LeBron missed his too.
Is Duke going soft? Evidence includes some head scratching losses, playing games too close, and decreased attendance by the infamous Cameron Crazies. Coach K better figure something out.
Let’s give it up for Towson University for ending their, NCAA record, 41 game losing streak! Go Tigers!
Tiger Woods looked like the Tiger of old during the golf tournament in Abu Dhabi, but alas, that final round did him in and he placed third. We’ll keep hope alive.
In a thriller that was much more about endurance, Novak Djokovic was crowned the champion against Rafael Nadal at the men’s Australian Open final. It was the longest in tournament history clocking in at just under 6 hours. Whew!
This weekend’s X Games definitely let you know how extreme they are with many favorites ultimately forced out of competition due to injury.
Shaun White, king of the X Games, managed to push through his ankle injury and earn a perfect score, and of course the gold medal, in the superpipe. It’s pretty impressive.
And on a great note to end on a congratulations and round of applause goes out to Alba for completing her first half marathon! Kudos!
