Reactions From a BCS Championship

11 Jan

Here are our thoughts of last night’s BCS National Championship:

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORINGGGGGGGGGGG!!! Robin started to stare into space in the second half, Alba was over it as soon as it started.

There were so many turnovers! What? Was this a game of hot potato?

At the same time they were playing like it was the fourth quarter in the first half, going for the two-point conversion and going for it on the fourth down. Huh?

Nick Fairley is, and continues to be, a dirty dude even on a super, hugely national stage. C’mon dude, you don’t think we’d see you sticking your fingers in someone’s face trying to mess them up? Not cool. Can’t wait for him to get fined and probably suspended in the NFL.

Cam who? Cam Newton wasn’t his usually stellar self. Oregon did manage to take him out of the game for a bit.

And why does Cam lie completely still on the ground after a run? For a second, it looks like he’s hurt.

Oregon’s uniforms were the hotness…but by the fourth quarter they looked ridiculous since they only had 11 points.

But had Oregon scored over 40 points would the NCAA launch an investigation for having special, performance enhancing uniforms? Hmmm.

The reviews of plays seemed to center on the knees and Michael Dyer. Was his knee down before he reached the end zone? Was his knee ever down when he was tackled by Oregon defender, Eddie Pleasant?

Ultimately, this wasn’t a commanding win by Auburn but more of a game where they were the benefactors of Oregon’s inability to execute when necessary.

If you’re like me, you watched the post-game interviews and wondered if they were speaking English.  I felt like I needed an interpreter.

Personally, Cecil Newton is a better person than I will ever be.  First, he missed the Heisman presentation and then he decides to skip seeing his son play in the Championship game.  Damn that, I already got my 180K I might as well go watch my kid shine!

Update 1/12/11: Apparently, Cam’s daddy was there.

Celebrate now Auburn you deserved it.   At least until Cam is declared ineligible in 2014 and Oregon is retroactively declared champ.

Feel free to add your comments too! What did you think?

Cecil was there…FOX cameras caught Cam hugging him in the stands. There was a strategic Auburn flag trying to hide that fact though. LOL Didn’t work.

Good analysis ladies, but I am however utterly disappointed that y’all made no mention of the beast game that Auburn’s true freshman running back Michael Dyer (outside of the comment about the replay). This game could be the beginning of a legacy for this young man.

Sorry Dany. That’s why we asked for comments. Dyer is also psychic, he predicted in 09 that Auburn would win a National Championship, very soon.

As a Duck fan, I was disappointed in the outcome. They talked about our speed but those big country boys were man handling us. We’ll see how good Auburn is without Cam Newton next season.

I’m making it MY BUSINESS to move out of this state so I NEVER have to her or see Alabama and Auburn crap; UGH!!!! The game was so boring I was on the phone with my friend talking about the nasty crazy people on Hoarders. Auburn won the game like they won 5 other games during the season; last second field. Poor kicker would have had to go into the witness relocation program if he would have missed that kick. These no teeth, never finished high school, having rednecks in Alabama would’ve sent the child death threats and threating his unborn children. Now, I have to hear Alabama fans tell Auburn they still have 13 National Championships to their 2. Can someone adopt me please or just shoot me 😦

Not only was this the most boring BCS game EVER, but I managed to be in a constant state of confusion as I kept thinking penalty flags were flying all over the field (AKA Oregon’s socks).
