T.O. Should Be Seen And Not Heard

15 Dec

Terrell Owens is a remarkable physical specimen and a marvelous athlete.  So why on earth does he suck so much as a person?  It’s as if the creator said, “I’ll give you talent and skills but you’re on your own for the brains and personality.”  As certain as winter follows fall, Terrell will complain about his current team.  You’d think we’d be used to it by now, you’d think the media would stop reporting it.  Particularly since his current team, the Cincinnati Bengals are so far out of the playoff picture you have to squint to see them.

Here’s his latest whiny rant:

“I think there’s underachieving from the top down,” Owens said. “You start with the owner, you start with the coaches. And obviously we as players, we are a product of what the coaches are coaching us throughout the course of the week. Of course, we have to go out there and play the game. But in order for us to do what we’re allowed to do at the best of our abilities, the coaches have to put the players in the best position.”

Terrell, shut the hell up.  Build a damn seat and sit in it.  This schtick is getting old.  Granted, Carson Palmer is a mere shadow of his former self and doesn’t seem to be able to guide the team.  They look a lot more like the Bungles of old than the division champs of last year.  But what gives Terrell the right to speak on it?  Why does he think he has all the answers?  Why does he feel that he should be the mouthpiece for all that is wrong on EVERY team he joins?  Yet next season he’ll wonder why, with all his talent and gifts, he struggles to find a team to take a chance on him.

Every season we think he’s learned his lesson but we all know you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.  Someone tell Mo and Kita to come get this dude and save him from himself…or from my tv.  Unless he looks like this…

I think the only two teams that could manage, not handle, the TO persona are Steelers and Patriots. Unfortunately, both will not hire him for a variety of reasons. Let’s be honest, the Bengals for years have the reputation on underachieving and taking risks with questionable players. This year, Carson stinks and bringing all issues to the surface. Great organizations and coaches find ways to win. I believe a change at QB was needed weeks ago. Then TO would have much to say.

So you think he is saying something only he is thinking and not the rest of that team? Why get mad at him for speaking up….Hello this is the same team who stomped a mud hole through this division last year. I’m sure when they signed him they did not say we plan on being a loser. Being on a 10 game losing streak doesn’t allow him to speak? Really? Especially when he is putting up pro bowl numbers? People should have been speaking out long time ago. YES at times TO needs to shut up but sorry this ain’t one of those times.

      Patrick,
There are a lot of bad teams with good players. Rarely do you hear them speak up the way T.O. does on a consistent basis. T.O. needs to be grateful he’s even playing football this year. If not for the Bengals he’d be at home watching.

Sorry but I see it on a situational basis. This situation has nothing yo do with previous situations . In this situation was anything he said untrue? All seemed logical to me. BTW there are plenty of guys on bad teams who say these same things however since they are not big names you don’t hear about it in the media. But hey…that’s just my opinion.

What do you think?
