Let’s Be Honest…

06 Dec

Our unfiltered thoughts on the past week in sports.

The Eagles knew what they were doing when they traded Donovan McNabb.

Ravens-Steelers is a bloodfest.  This HAD to hurt…a lot.

Oh and Ben…karma is a b*&@#.

The annoying announcer of the week award goes to Chris Collingsworth.

Oregon and Auburn winning big saved the BCS from being called out this year.

The Cleveland Cavalier fans made you sympathetic toward LeBron James but you still don’t like the Miami Heat.

Don’t you enjoy seeing Favre getting knocked out of the game (and not feel one bit guilty about thinking it)?

The Cincinnati Bengals just can’t seem to get it right, they frustrate even the non-fans.

You’re not feeling Green Bay’s throwbacks either.  Although Greg Jennings and Donald Driver were beasts while wearing them.

Some people have a soft spot for the Creamsicle so we’ll leave that alone.

And while we’re talking about gear and clothing, Shannon Sharpe’s suit yesterday . . . *pause* and why do we continue to be surprised by them.

If you can count on NOTHING else, you know that a Ravens-Steelers match up is going to be some good old fashioned hardnosed (broken, in Ben’s case), smashmouth football. Heath Miller got the stuffing knocked out of him… and not ONE flag? Same with Ben’s nose… but whatever. My boys pulled a win, albeit an ugly one, in the game they REALLY needed to win. We’ll see the Ravens again in the playoffs…

Warning: Robin is a Ravens fan.

I do agree that hit on Miller is fine-worthy, however McClain was already in motion to make the tackle as Miller was falling so his helmet came into McClain’s “firing range.” It was too late for him to adjust. As for Ngata’s hit on Roethlisberger, Ngata’s hand hit Big Perv, uh Ben’s facemask in the process of the sack and the bars of his helmet hit his nose. This hit was not flag-worthy. But they both got fined so the league believes you.

And the Ravens lost the game more than the Steelers won it. I’ll end it there. See you in the playoffs. 🙂
